o2.2.2 an individual or organisation who offers skills development opportunities through coaching and mentoring, and/or through advice, research and support ("Consultant"); and

o2.2.3 consumed by any individuals or organisations who take advantage of the Opportunities promoted through the Skills Platform ("Customer").

3. Fees and Discounts

3.1 Fees:

Skills Platform fees are made up of two parts:

  1. An annual listings fee of £500+VAT. Listing is free until activity targets are reached -See listing fee explanation below
  2. Commission orders made online via the Skills Platform’s ecommerce function (optional) - See commission fee explanation below

3.2 Skills Platform Listing Fees

  • The Skills Platform has an annual listings fee of £500+VAT. This only due once certain activity targets are hit. Until this point, the Skills Platform listing is free. This fee is then paid annually in advance each year. There is no minimum contract from year to year.
  • Activity targets are based around the average transaction value for the provider. Example bands are provided below
  • These targets are based on the Skills Platform’s average site wide conversion rate and each target is independent of the other. Any one of these targets being hit results in a listings fee being owed to the Skills Platform. As we have no control of your on-site conversion rate, we have made a fair estimate of what this might be. Therefore, if we send you 200 external clicks, we estimate that this will result in £1,000 in sales based on an average order value of £50. A listings fee is still triggered based on sending you external clicks, regardless of the sales you receive on your site.
  • The Skills Platform activity targets are as follows:
    • Target sales: The total volume of sales made on the Skills Platform through the Skills Platform booking engine. Offline sales are excluded from this. This activity target may be N/A if you do not take sales on through the Platform.
    • Target sales volume: The total number of sales made on the Skills Platform through the Skills Platform booking engine. Offline sales are excluded from this. This activity target may be N/A if you do not take sales on through the Platform.
    • Target sessions: The number of sessions that you receive on all your pages on the Skills Platform including course pages and profile page. A session may be two people visiting the pages or one person visiting multiple times in a day. For further definition of a session see here.
    • Target enquiries: The total number of enquiries you receive on the Skills Platform.
    • Target external clicks: The total number of times we send traffic to your external website.
  • These targets can be tracked within the provider dashboard and via quarterly reports.
  • Example activity target schedules:

  • Essentially, if you have a higher average transaction value, we need to send you less traffic for the platform listing to be worthwhile as one order may be more than enough to justify the listing fee. If you have a lower average transaction value, we have to send you more traffic to justify the listings fee.
  • Example scenarios based on £50 average transaction value:
    • You receive £300 sales online on the platform – no fee is due
    • The Skills Platform sends you 300 clicks to your website – a listings fee is due
    • The Skills Platform generates 10 enquiries for you – no fee is due
    • You receive 40 sales via the Skills Platform – a listings fee is due

4. Payments and Price

You can offer direct purchasing on the Skills Platform which means customers can place an order without having to fill in other forms on your website. Offering direct purchases on the Skills Platform offers many benefits:

  • Increase revenue. Providers who accept direct payments on the Skills Platform tend to achieve higher sales as customers enjoy having being able to order within a single platform using details they have already registered.
  • Greater presence. Our algorithm uses onsite sales as a quality signal. The more sales you receive, the higher you may appear for certain terms within the platform.
  • Control – For payments via Stripe, the order is sent to your Stripe account via the Skills Platform account. This means there is no delay in you receiving your payment.

There are two methods of accepting payments via the Skills Platform

  1. Card payments via Stripe
  2. Offering invoice payments to the customer

For both direct payment methods, the Skills Platform charges 5% commission. This commission is taken automatically at the point of payment for Stripe payments and manually via invoice payments.

In addition to Skills Platform commission charges, Stripe levies a fee of 1.2% + 20p for European cards. You may be able to negotiate lower rates based on your sales volumes. For further details see here: https://stripe.com/gb/pricing

This section is for information only and would only apply if the NAS take up Skills for Health’s online payment functionality.

o4.2.2 Any Provider or Consultant who wishes to promote Opportunities through the Skills Platform, using the e-commerce functionality for payment needs to create and manage a Stripe account. 4.3 SKILLS FOR HEALTH will invoice the Provider [ or Consultant ] for the Commission due when the value of this commission owed is greater than £25. The Commission shall be paid by the Provider [or Consultant] within 40 days of the date of our invoice.

4.4 SKILLS FOR HEALTH will not participate in any dispute between Providers or Consultants and Customer relating to the provision of the Opportunity.

4.5 In the event that a Provider or Consultant refunds all or any part of the cost of an Opportunity to the Customer, SKILLS FOR HEALTH will not refund the Commission. In certain circumstances, at the discretion of SKILLS FOR HEALTH, consideration may be given to refunding the Commission. Each request for a refund of this nature should be made in writing to support@skillsplatform.org.

4.6 By posting Opportunities on the Skills Platform Providers or Consultants accept and agree that the terms stated are at least as favourable as those granted by the Provider or Consultant on their own site or any other site or platform which they use to advertise Opportunities.

4.7 Opportunities that are made available by a Provider for purchase with a clear and fixed price; date and/or location though a Provider’s other marketing activity e.g. their own website, must also be made available on the Skills Platform as opportunities that can be booked online on the Skills Platform.
