• Working effectively within a clinical environment

• Establishing a patient’s identity, awareness of the rights and need of the patient

• Identifying a suitable vein for venepuncture

• The correct application of tourniquet

• Practical session obtaining a sample using an adult artificial arm

• Identifying the correct sample bottles needed, order of draw, correct labeling of samples.

• Understanding of and using the two different collection methods
