Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is ideal for students who are learning and development practitioners with relatively complex skills and significant autonomy who work across several, if not all, phases of the learning and development cycle.

The course is aimed at those who are serious about developing their skills and abilities as managers of learning and development provision at an operational level or whose job role includes a mixture of practice and management.

 

Programme goals

The aim of this qualification is designed for candidates who facilitate learning and development by;

  • Identifying the learning needs of individuals
  • Preparing learning and development resources
  • By creating an engaging learning environment.
  • Students may be involved with developing and assessing the skills, knowledge and competence of learners primarily in the workplace or in work-related programmes of learning.

 

This qualification will give candidates the opportunity to:

  • achieve a nationally recognised qualification valued by employers
  • develop candidates’ knowledge and understanding across a range of management concepts that are relevant to the delivery of learning and development
  • provide the underpinning knowledge in order to develop candidates’ abilities to set and support organisational objectives through a wide range of functions, such as informing strategic decision making or managing programmes of complimentary projects

Programme delivery

This qualification is regulated in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The programme consists of units based on the national occupational standards developed by Learning and Development experts within Awarding bodies.

The programme will be delivered by a fully qualified and occupationally competent assessor on a one to one basis using a variety of methods and delivered flexibly according to the needs of the learner. We undertake an in depth initial assessment process with all our students so that we can put individuals on the correct level of course to suit individual needs and aspirations. In order to achieve this qualification a candidate must achieve a minimum of 55 credits made up of mandatory and optional units by producing a portfolio of evidence. This will then be internally quality assessed and externally certified by the Awarding Body OCR.
