BLS training and automated external defibrillator (AED and BLS/CPR)

With heart and circulatory diseases claiming approximately 200,000 lives per year, more and more businesses and organisations are including automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in their workplace first aid kit – our basic life support training courses are designed to ensure nominated first aiders and healthcare workers are able to effectively operate this life-saving equipment, while also teaching CPR resuscitation.

This vital BSL training will give you the tools to increase a casualty’s chances of survival should they suffer a heart attack or fall unconscious while in the workplace – or to ensure that nurses and other healthcare professionals have up-to-date knowledge of AEDs and basic life support skills.

If you have an AED on site, you need to make sure you have staff who know how to safely use it, and can administer CPR on-site while you wait for the emergency services to attend.

What do our AED and basic life support training courses cover?

Our BLS training courses cover defibrillation procedures using AEDs, basic life support and resuscitation techniques and much more, including:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessing the situation using the ABCDE approach
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty – breathing and non-breathing
  • Resuscitation/basic life support
  • Dealing with a choking incident

Upon completion of the AED and basic life support training course, delegates will have the knowledge and skills to:

  2. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  3. Know how to safely operate an automated external defibrillator and put this into practice when required

Course duration
