The qualification covers the range of activities carried out by senior staff working within the warehouse and storage environment including team leadership, organising and schedule operations and operational performance management.

Working as the Senior Member/Team Leader of the team, in addition to your normal warehouse operation activities, you will also have delegated responsibility for overseeing the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring your team complete these tasks on time ready for despatch.

This programme would be well suited to learners who work as a senior team member in a warehousing operation within the logistics sector. It allows learners to develop and practise the skills required for career progression in the logistics sector.

Apprenticeships are made up of a variety of components; we have listed below the mandatory components that are required for this programme:
 Level 3 Diploma in Warehousing and Storage (QCF)
 Level 2 Award in Employee Rights and Responsibilities in the Logistics Industry
 Maths and English Skills Level 1
 Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

The Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage Advanced (Level 3) has mandatory and optional units. To achieve the Apprenticeship you must achieve all mandatory units and several optional units to achieve a minimum of 40 credits.

The mandatory units are as follows:
 Contribute to the Provision of Customer Service in Logistics Operations
 Provide Leadership for Your Team in Logistics Operations
 Supervise the Receipt, Storage or Dispatch of Goods
 Take Responsibility for Health, Safety and Security in Your Team
Some of the optional units are as follows:
 Moving and/or Handling Goods in Logistics Operations
 Process Returned Goods in Logistics Operations
 Sort Goods of Materials for Recycling or Disposal in Logistics Operations
 Maintain the Safety and Security of Hazardous Goods and Materials in Logistics Operations
 Inducting New Colleagues into a Logistics Operation
 Manage Your Own Professional Development in Logistics Operations
 Build and Manage Teams in Logistics Operations
 Release Vehicles for Daily Tasks
 Monitor Vehicle Movements
 Manage the Traffic Office
