Finding it difficult to swallow food and drink properly can have a profoundly negative effect on a person’s life. As well as making it difficult to enjoy a normal, social activity it can lead to further complications, some of which can be dangerous and potentially fatal.
This session looks at how staff can support people with dysphagia. This module was developed as an extension to the suite of Food, Nutrition and Hydration in Health and Social Care e-learning courses.

The module is followed by a multiple choice assessment designed to test learners’ understanding of dysphagia. Progress can be tracked by managers for internal audits and learners can keep a certificate of completion for CPD.
