This course is an introduction to the key equality and diversity issues that you need to understand and apply in your role on a day-to-day basis.

Overview

This course looks at the key issues surrounding equality and diversity, and is a general awareness course suitable for all staff. The specific aspects of equality and diversity are also covered in more detail in the Equality, Diversity & Human Rights – Promoting Understanding course.

This course is made up of two modules

Module 1 – General Awareness

Module 2 – General Awareness Assessment

If learners already have a good understanding of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights they can take the Equality, Diversity and Human Rights E-assessment which is available as a separate course.

All healthcare staff.

Assessment

The session is followed by an assessment with a pass mark of 80%. Progress can be tracked by managers for internal audits and learners can keep a certificate of completion for CPD. This course meets the relevant standards for the Core Skills Training Framework.

The course was initially developed by the e-learning development team in Liverpool Community Health Trust, commissioned by NHS North West. The material in the course has since been revised for national use with the with the support of subject experts
