Lead Adult Care Worker Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Acacia Training and Development
Delivery Method: Blended

A Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is a level 3 Standard

The Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care have been completely revised to bring them up to date with employer expectation and in line with the new blueprint Standard devised by the industry. This new Standard contains different elements that once completed make up the full apprenticeship. This is a challenging programme and learners will gain experience as well as learn new skills throughout the 18-month programme.

Programme Content

With Acacia Training and Development, you will have an appointed Assessor that will come to you at the workplace to help you to learn and provide evidence for your level 3 City and Guilds Diploma. As with all Apprenticeships, there is also English and Maths Functional Skills to complete unless you have already achieved these subjects at a level 2 or equivalent (e.g GCSE A*-C/4-9). The Care Certificate is also part of the new Standard.

We will send an assessor to visit you at your workplace every month. You will create a portfolio of evidence either online or in a paper-based file. Your assessor will work with you to improve your work until it is ready for assessment and verification.

20% Off-the-job learning

In May 2017, a new requirement was introduced which states that all apprentices must complete 20% off the job training. We know how challenging this is and we will help you to understand what you do during your day that can be recorded on your learning log as part of this 20% learning time. We will explain this clearly to you and your employer before we sign you up on the programme as it is a commitment from both the employer and the apprentice.

End Assessment

With all new Standards there is an end assessment and for Health and social care this involves a multiple choice test which we will invigilate and is provided by City and Guilds. Once you have passed the test, you then move on to stage 2 which is a professional discussion and review of your portfolio. This is completed by an external company - not by Acacia Training, so we will make sure that you are absolutely ready for this before we put your name forward for this final assessment.

Once all end assessment is completed, City and Guilds will issue you with a grade and, if you have passed fully, a certificate of achievement of the full apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships now have a complex payment system where the largest employers use their Digital Account (Levy) to pay 100% of the costs, smaller employers pay 10% of the cost with the government funding 90%. As we will need to discuss this with each employer to work out the fees that apply, we have stated the price for a smaller employer.
