Understanding and Meeting Fluid and Nutrition Needs in Dementia Care
All workers have a duty to ensure a high level of nutritional support. It is important to understand good nutrition and reduce the risk of malnutrition, dehydration amongst individuals living with dementia. It is also important to know the appropriate action to take to get support and advise for individuals.

8.1c List signs and symptoms of poor nutrition and hydration
8.1d Explain how to promote adequate nutrition and hydration
8.2e and 8.3e Know how to report any concerns to the relevant person. This could include:

• Carer
• Family member

Understanding and Meeting Fluid and Nutritional Needs in Dementia Care course is a half day workshop for 12 - 15 learners. Additional learners may be negotiated at additional cost. Learners will receive a workbook to facilitate retaining and refreshing knowledge following the course. Certificates of attendance will be sent following the course and a Training Evaluation report following learner feedback.
