This course is designed to to understand how to safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and how to respond to evidence or concerns that a vulnerable adult has been abused or is in risk.

Duration: one day or half day course.

  • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults in a care setting
  • Individuals’ and organisations’ safeguarding duties and responsibilities
  • The mental capacity act and safeguarding
  • Identifying risk and vulnerability to abuse and neglect
  • Risk assessment (incorporating into Care Plans)
  • Rights and responsibilities of vulnerable adults (including their understanding)
  • Emotional and physical health and safety
  • Responding to concerns and record keeping.
  • No Secrets Act and POVA /SOVA legislation
  • Relevant policies
