Supervision Training

This course is aimed at staff who are required act as a supervisor as part of their role. Both managerial and clinical supervision is covered.

Learning Aims

This course provides supervisors with information which includes the Trust standards and expectations, the purpose and value of supervision, structure and models of supervision, reflection, contracts, recording, confidentiality, challenging and giving and receiving feedback. Staff also have the opportunity to practice their supervision skills.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this course attendees will know:

  • what is expected of supervisors and supervisees
  • the purpose and value of supervision and the different ways in which it can be delivered
  • how to structure a supervision session using a recognised model
  • be able to agree a supervision contract
  • be able to reflect, challenge and give and receive feedback in supervision

You will need to attend prepared with an issue that can be used for supervision practice.
