Nasogastric Care Insertion and Feeding

NGT Training | NG Tube Insertion, NG Tube Feeding

NGT training – NG tube insertion and feeding course

Our NGT training course covers all aspects of nasogastric care, including:

  • NG tube insertion
  • NG tube feeding

Nasogastric feeding involves the placement of a thin plastic tube into the nasal cavity and down into the stomach, and is used to provide nutrition and medicines directly to a patient where there are issues or difficulties with swallowing, or for those who can’t take solid food or oral medicines for a variety of medical reasons.

Our NGT training provides healthcare professionals with crucial knowledge and practical experience, including insertion techniques, an understanding of nasogastric nutrition, feeding and medication administration, management and general daily care of both the equipment and the patient.

Nasogastric training ensures workers have the correct clinical skills to provide optimum care and support for patients with illnesses and health conditions of a severe, chronic or debilitating nature. Delivered by qualified medical professionals with firsthand experience of working with NGT patients, our training course will prepare healthcare workers with the required theoretical and practical experience needed as a basis for in-work competency assessments.
