The People Handling in Care Training Course aims to provide staff with the essential knowledge and understanding of the safe process of moving people to prevent injury to themselves and the person being moved, whilst also covering the legal requirements regarding the handling of people.

  • Basic anatomy
  • The spinal column / Vertebrae / discs & nerves / Facet joints / Muscles & tendons / Ligaments
  • Safe Moving & Handling
  • Dynamic risk assessment / TILEE (task, individual, load, environment, equipment) / Factors that contribute to Moving & Handling / Controversial - unsafe techniques
  • Good Base Movement
  • Principles of good base movement / Pushing & pulling / Moving & Handling technique

6 Hours ( 3 hours theory and 3 hours practical)
