Who is the course for?

To provide healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with an overview of the subject, enabling an understanding of Epilepsy and its origin in order to develop ways to respond positively to the seizure activity.

    Epilepsy is a serious neurological condition that can affect anyone, at any age and from any walk of life.

    For some, seizures are life-threatening: 1,000 people die in the UK every year because of their epilepsy.

    As many as 400 of these deaths could be prevented.

    Around half of these 1,000 deaths are from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), in which someone with epilepsy dies and no obvious cause of death can be found.

    The course is Accredited by Advantage Accreditation.

    • Activities of Daily Living
    • SUDEP (Sudden unexpected death in Epilepsy)

    Introduction to Midazolam

    • Background / Requirements for use / Risk assessment / specific guidelines.
    • Routes of administration/Practical work.
    • Practical assessment on administering Buccal Midazolam

    Availability

    This training course is available as in-house training at a venue of your own choice throughout the UK.

    Certification

    All delegates will receive an Advantage accredited certificate.
