Course overview

An interactive two days to stimulate development for both new and more established managers, co-creators and change agents.

Explore current thinking and practice of effective leadership, and practise and refine coaching skills using real world examples and challenges.

Course aims

This is a unique course for those ready to develop their leadership and management skills. The course is fun and interactive, using realistic exercises to support learning

Course objectives

By the end of the course, you will have had opportunities to:

  • Gain insight into the difference between managing and leading
  • Consider challenges in leading within complex and fast moving systems
  • Reflect & review your own leadership behaviours and values and reflect on when you take the lead
  • Practice a variety of tools and techniques which will enable you to develop your leadership skills and to effectively lead your team and services
  • Identify what makes an effective team and the challenges and opportunities within your own team
  • Understand the range of possible leadership styles and gain particular insight into the potential of leadership coaching
  • Practice coaching skills using real work examples and challenges

Competences – CFAM & LBA1, LBA2, NHS KSF G6, Core 4
