This two day course will explore the essential ingredients for effective management and leadership. Day one explores the theory and practice, principles and disciplines of good management; day two focuses on managing people through refining participants’ coaching skills using real world examples and challenges. Focused on developing yourself as a manager and leader; an interactive two days aiming to stimulate thinking and support practice for both new and established managers.

This is a unique course for those ready to develop their leadership and management skills. The course is fun and interactive, using realistic exercises to support learning.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, you will have opportunities to:

  • Gain insight into the difference between managing and leading
  • Reflect & review your own leadership behaviours and values and reflect on the type of leader you would like to be
  • Practice a variety of tools and techniques which will enable you to develop your leadership skills, knowledge and behaviours and to effectively lead your team and services
  • Identify what makes an effective team and the challenges and opportunities within your own team
  • Understand the range of possible leadership styles and gain particular insight into the potential of leadership coaching
  • Practice coaching skills using real work examples and challenges
