Child Safeguarding Awareness Seminar

This full day face-to-face training course helps delegates to recognise, report and record concerns about a child's welfare in England and Wales. This is an introductory course for anyone who works with children or families in their work so previous child protection training is not needed.

People who have taken this course include healthcare workers, health and safety officers, safeguarding support workers, professionals from community and commercial organisations with a responsibility for young workers

Course content:

  • Name the categories of abuse and neglect and give examples of each
  • Recognise the signs and indicators of possible abuse
  • Understand relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance
  • Identify and understand the barriers that exist for some people when considering whether or not to report abuse concerns
  • Understand how to respond and report your concerns
  • Demonstrate defensible decision-making in a safeguarding setting
