This half day course is for staff working in care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care & supported living & aims to raise the awareness of pressure injury prevention as part of their job role.

  • List the common sites of pressure injuries
  • Describe the categories of pressure injuries
  • List the risk factors
  • Describe how the risk of developing a pressure injury is assessed
  • Demonstrate how to put SKINS bundle into practice to prevent pressure injuries developing
  • Describe your responsibilities in preventing pressure injuries developing

    • All training sessions have been written using Skills for Care Induction Related Training, part of recommendations for CQC Providers Guide (2015).
    • Where possible content is evidence based.
    • All sessions are regularly reviewed to ensure the most up to date evidence is used.
    • Sessions will be adjusted to meet the needs of your organisation.
    • In addition to the training sessions Caring Footsteps currently delivers, bespoke training can also be written and delivered.
