This half day course provides the underpinning theory of infection prevention and control within social care environments including care homes, nursing homes & staff working in people’s own homes.

Overview:

  • Identify what is infection, the types, routes and chain
  • Understand ways of preventing infection for spreading by the use of standard precautions
  • Explain how to manage diarrhoea & vomiting
  • Identify symptoms of sepsis
  • List the Roles & Responsibilities for infection prevention & control

  • All training sessions have been written using Skills for Care Induction Related Training, part of recommendations for CQC Providers Guide (2015).
  • Where possible content is evidence based.
  • All sessions are regularly reviewed to ensure the most up to date evidence is used.
  • Sessions will be adjusted to meet the needs of your organisation.
  • In addition to the training sessions Caring Footsteps currently delivers, bespoke training can also be written and delivered.
