Compassionate communications training focuses on compassion-centred communications awareness and skills to strengthen our ability to think, make decisions and act with compassion at the heart of how we connect with patients, families and colleagues.

Focussing our communication style around compassion builds healthier, happier environments and teams; it allows us to thrive and reconnect with the values and behaviours that brought us to work in health and care.

This training session is aimed at staff across the health and care in palliative care, support/care worker roles etc. it is designed to provide participants with insightful knowledge and effective skills in better managing their own emotional resilience to be able to extend compassion-centred care to patients, family members and colleagues.

Compassionate Communications is an interactive workshop led by a compassionate communications facilitator, including practical, individual, paired and small group discussions and exercises.

This is a half day Session.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Build skills and confidence to deal compassionately with patients, families and colleagues
  • Make every contact count-be confident to signpost service user needs effectively
  • Strengthen the confidence and "comfort" to prioritise and not avoid sensitive conversations.
