One to One Work with Older People

Delivery Method: Face-to-face This half day course will equip attendees with the confidence and ideas to facilitate activities that are truly meaningful to the people they support. Designed for those who support older people, this course will leave you more confident in engaging one to one with those you care for.
During this half-day course attendees will:
- Learn the basic principles of life story work and explore how these can be used to enhance one to one interactions
- Identify and explore ways to engage and connect with older people through verbal and non-verbal communication
- Explore creative approaches to one to one work including music, poetry and the use of touchscreen technology
- Learn how daily tasks can be used as a way to effectively engage with older people
Offered nationwide, we can deliver this training at your care setting or venue of choice, to groups of up to 12 people.
