Training will be delivered face-to-face with Covid-safety measures and clear guidance in place.

If for any reason the course cannot be delivered face-to-face, we will take a flexible and responsive approach to keep people learning by delivering the training on the same day as a live interactive online session or transferring bookings to the next available dates.


Course overview

A dynamic and practical day to understand the core principles for effective communication, and to practise using ingredients and techniques for communicating assertively one-to-one and in groups.

Explore barriers, behaviours and triggers that can inhibit effective communication and develop strategies and confidence to manage these.

To develop confidence in using assertiveness techniques to communicate clearly and effectively

Course objectives

By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

  • Explore the difference between passive, aggressive, manipulative and assertive ways to communicate
  • Understand the core principles of effective communication
  • Practice using ingredients and techniques for effective communication
  • Explore commonly experienced difficulties and ways to manage these in one-to-one and group settings
