Foundation Level Manual Handling course
Musculoskeletal injury continues to account for significant sickness absence amongst the UK workforce. Our manual handling training team is led by Sarah, a registered nurse and advanced moving and handling practitioner

How do we approach manual handling training?
Our course programme employs a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates and includes the following:
- Predisposing factors of musculoskeletal injuries
- Postural awareness and static loading
- Spinal awareness
- Principles of safer handling
- Legislation
- Risk assessment
- Unsafe practice
- Practical client handling techniques
- Hoist training
- Team handling

This course is of 6 hours (one day) duration

Our ‘in-house’ course programmes are the most cost effective option if you’ve a number of staff requiring training, and in many cases can be adapted to include reference to local policy, practice and documentation. These courses can be delivered either at any suitable venue or you can hire our purpose-built training centre located in Warmley, Bristol, whichever is best suited to your needs.
We also run a rolling programme of ‘open courses’ which are particularly suited for individuals, organisations that only have a few delegates or those looking to release small groups of staff at a time.
