Researching Beneath the Surface

University of the West of England, Bristol
Delivery Method: Face-to-face

Course rationale:

The Researching Beneath the Surface module looks into how we research and inquire into human experience, particularly the affective and less conscious dimensions of this experience.

What are the ethical, organisational and political implications of connecting with and understanding our own and others deeper thoughts and experience? How might our emerging knowledge and understanding influence changes in our practices? These kinds of questions are increasingly being asked today by researchers, consultants, social activists and organisational innovators.

Delivery:

Delivery pattern will be flexible, work-based and vary in line with the requirements of those utilising this module. - for example:

  • 25 contact hours ideally delivered in day blocks to facilitate travel and work cover arrangements
  • 100 hours of work-based learning over the module
  • 175 hours private study/reading.

Funding may be available to support your learning. Please contact your Trust Education Lead. If you work in the Private, Independent and Voluntary Sector, please contact your employer who will advise you.
