Our CPD units in Dermatology for Community Healthcare Professionals are aimed at community-based healthcare professionals who wish to improve referral and care pathways for patients with common skin problems, including registered GPs, GP trainees, pharmacists, registered nurses and physician associates.

There are three units to complete alone or in any combination. You may choose from online or blended learning options for each unit.

Managing Drug Eruptions, Urticaria and the Immunosuppressed

This course will cover the following topics:

  • skin failure: pre-empting drug eruptions and emergencies;
  • urticaria: gaining symptom control;
  • infections in the skin: challenges in the community;
  • immunosuppressed skin patients: what do I need to do?

On completion of this course, you will be able to recognise and pre-empt common acute dermatological problems.

Common Inflammatory Conditions

On completion of this course, you will have gained knowledge about:

  • the most common inflammatory skin conditions encountered in the population, including psoriasiform, acneiform and eczematous eruptions;
  • the above skin conditions with a focus on accurate diagnosis and effective therapeutic strategies.

Benign Lesions in the Context of Malignancy

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • apply the knowledge gained to your practice to make accurate diagnoses key to the management of lesions of the skin;
  • recognise when lesions may be managed conservatively or referred to a specialist.
CPD points (RCGP accredited)

The course content is aligned to the national RCGP curriculum and confers the following points:

  • Blended learning: 20 CPD points
  • Online learning only: 12 CPD points
