Adult and Paediatric Basic Life Support

This course is designed for non-medically trained personnel and will be delivered in line with the Resuscitation Council (UK) 2015 guidelines.

Objectives/Aims of Course

For attendees to be able to demonstrate and understand the procedures when assessing an unconscious casualty. To be able to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin (with or without airway adjuncts) and to be able to demonstrate the management and treatment of a choking adult and child.

Course Programme

• Demonstrate the procedures when assessing an unconscious casualty
• Demonstrate the recovery position
• Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin (with or without airway adjuncts)
• Discuss the ‘Do Not Attempt Resuscitation’ (DNAR) policy
• Demonstrate the management and treatment of a choking adult and Child

Course Deliverables

This course will provide a certificate of Training for Adult Basic Life Support
