Adult and Paediatric Clinical Responders

This course covers all aspects of Basic Life Support, as well as Anaphylaxis and is designed for all Doctors, Inpatient Nurses and Health Care Assistants, Community Nurses, Community Mental Health Nurses and Health Care Assistants. This course will be delivered in line with the Resuscitation Council (UK) 2015 guidelines.

Objectives/Aims of Course

Attendees will be able to understand and demonstrate the procedures when assessing an unconscious casualty and be able to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin (with or without airway adjuncts).

Attendees will also gain theoretical knowledge of Anaphylaxis as part of this training course.

Course Programme

• Demonstrate the procedures when assessing an unconscious casualty
• Demonstrate the recovery position
• Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin (with or without airway adjuncts)
• Discuss the ‘Do Not Attempt Resuscitation’ (DNAR) policy
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of resuscitation equipment available within the working environment
• Demonstrate the management and treatment of a choking adult
• Theoretical knowledge of Anaphylaxis

Course Deliverables

This course will provide a certificate of Training for Adult Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis
