Mental Health Awareness Training Course

This one day course has been designed to provide a broad range of knowledge relating to Mental Health.

Objectives/Aims of Course

To promote an awareness of Mental Health and Mental Wellbeing, by looking at the four main groups of mental disorders.

Course Programme

• What is Mental Wellbeing / Mental ill health
• The Four main groups of Mental Disorders – Neuroses; Psychosis; Organic and Personality Disorders.
• How to support individuals with Mental health problems
• Communication

Course Deliverables

This course will provide a certificate of Training for Mental Health Awareness and will be delivered generally in line with Tier 1 of Health Education England’s “Core Skills Education and Training Framework” for Mental Health.
Content will also provide knowledge towards the City and Guilds Mental Health units and also the knowledge requirements for the Care Certificates standard 9.

Who Should Attend (including pre-requisites)

All staff completing the Care Certificate and anyone who wishes to gain an awareness of Mental Health and Mental Wellbeing
