This one day in-house training day will enable workers to learn the skills required to offer emotional support via the remote communication methods of text, email and webchat.

This course can be offered as a standalone day, but will be more effective as a two day course to enable participants more time for practice and for participants to receive feedback. Please contact Self Injury Support to discuss further.

Workshop Details:

  • Learn how to transfer listening skills to text/email/webchat
  • Have a better understanding of the components that make a good reply
  • Analyse text conversations and think about the challenges of live texting/webchat
  • Carry out skills practices and receive feedback
  • Explore how supervision can work using this model
