The Health and Care Support Staff Learning and Development Network is a regional CPD network/Community of Practice facilitated by the three Excellence Centres in the Yorkshire and Humber region i.e. :

  • West Yorkshire and Harrogate Excellence Centre (WYHEC)
  • South Yorkshire Region (SYREC)
  • Humber Coast and Vale

Network meetings are planned to be held three times year with venues being rotated across the three geograhical areas. Meetings can be attended free by members/stakeholders of the Excellence Centres and comprise individuals who have an interest or involvement in the support staff learning and development agenda (commonly referred to as Bands 1-4; Ancillary staff; support workers; unregistered workforce).

The agenda of each meeting will vary depending on current topics of interest. all meetings will consist of group work activities and provide opportunities to network and share with like-minded colleagues from across the integrated health and care system.

The agenda for the first of these meetings ( event 20th Sept 2018) will be sent when individuals book and will include:

Discussion of hot topics related to support staff training and development and an opportunity to share ways of working related to Apprenticeships and the Care Certificate.

An opportunity to receive regional and national updates from key stakeholders such as Skills for Care, Skills for Health, Health Education England and NHS Employers and learn about the introduction of T level vocational qualifications and the implications of these in relation to the health and social care sector.
