Musculoskeletal presentations such as limp, joint pain or swelling are common in primary care. This short course will provide you with practical tips to support your assessment and direct further management of children and young people. The course will take around 40 minutes to complete. You will be able to download a Certificate of Completion upon finishing the course.

Course topics include:

  • Introduction, background & objectives
  • The challenge for GPs
  • Case 1 - a 3 year old limping child
  • Case 2 - 13 year old with multiple joint pains
  • Case 3 - 3 year old with night pains
  • Case 4 - 12 year old with knee pain

Further eModules coming soon from the PMM team include the child with fever and also the child with gait problems - targeting knowledge and skills needed by paediatricians and paediatric physiotherapists.
