This one day highly interactive course is designed for those who need to understand how a business operates from a financial perspective and who would benefit from understanding the key processes and terms.

The course is suitable for managers with little or no financial knowledge, new budget holders and those who are receiving (financial) management information.

  • Budget setting, control and forecasting
  • Cost centre reporting
  • Raising purchase orders and invoice generation
  • Understanding financial statements and terminology – e.g. "actual, variance, accrual, fixed and variable costs" etc
  • Cashflow v Turnover
  • Managing the value of assets
  • Projects and business cases
  • Return on Investment
  • Costs that can be controlled and those that can't

By the end of this event you will:

Have gained an understanding of financial accounts and reports

And will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of finance in healthcare and your organisation and your influence
  • Use and understand financial statements, terms and concepts
  • Comprehend project & business case proposals
