Organisations whose employees or business partners engage directly or indirectly with young people or children under the age of 18 at their place of work or in the wider community, have a legal and moral duty to protect them from harm. Young and vulnerable people need to be able to trust those with whom they work.

This course is an introduction to the concepts and principles of safeguarding children and young people and is designed to to help learners identify, manage and respond effectively to concerns.

  • Better understand safeguarding legislation
  • Know how to identify categories of abuse
  • Be more confident about recognising situations when the vulnerable could be at risk.
  • Be more aware of behaviour, signs and symptoms that could be a safeguarding concern.
  • Learn how to share your concerns in the correct manner and access the network of support and guidance available to you.
  • Understand that you can make a difference.
