Skills day: Managing difficult interactions for admin, clerical and reception staff

In the course of your work, do you come across clients with emotional or mental health problems? These can manifest as problematic to deal with, either in person or on the telephone. This training will help you to offer the best response to clients coming to your service.
This one-day course, run by the Training and Vocational Initiatives in personality disorder team and STARS (ex-service users), will give you the opportunity to:
· explore some of the difficult situations you face at work
· gain an understanding of why some clients present in a challenging way
· develop effective skills and strategies in responding effectively, both face-to-face and over the telephone, and in a way that is beneficial to yourself and the client
· Do come ready to share ideas and experiences, and participate in small group work.
