The Level 2 Specialist Award in Continence Care enables Participants to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to promoting continence, including early identification and care of incontinence issues, and person centred care for people with continence problems.
At First Response Training we can provide face-to-face, classroom-based courses inhouse at your premises or venue of your choice, open courses at our public venues and a range of e-learning, distance learning and webinar courses, as well as blended learning solutions.
By the end of this course learners will:
- Understand the meaning of continence and incontinence
- Understand and explain different types of continence problems
- Explain reversible causes of urinary incontinence
- Describe the different treatments available
- Understand how to effectively manage continence problems
- Understand infection control issues in relation to incontinence
- Appreciate how to promote dignity when caring for someone who has continence problems

- Promoting good continence - Toileting, independence and good hygiene inlcuding infection control
