The Level 3 Specialist Award in Managing Medication explores the principles of handling medicines in the workplace to include best practice, safe handling of medicines and to carry out competency assessments in adult social care settings.

At First Response Training we can provide face-to-face, classroom-based courses inhouse at your premises or venue of your choice, open courses at our public venues and a range of e-learning, distance learning and webinar courses, as well as blended learning solutions.

By the end of this course learners will:

  • To identify poor practice in handling medicines and how to manage this
  • To identify how to complete audit trails in line with regulations
  • Explain how to carry our competency assessments on staff administering medicines
  • To know the correct procedures for dealing with controlled drugs
  • To define the importance of safe management of medicines in the workplace (including storage, administering and recording)
