Adults can be abused in many different ways. Those who are elderly or disabled are at a heightened risk, but that does not mean that other adults are not also at risk.

Safeguarding adults means protecting an adults right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. It is about organisations and individuals working together to prevent or stop abuse and neglect.

If you have contact with adults then you need to understand how to embed safeguarding into your everyday service delivery.

This safeguarding adults’ level 2 course focuses on:

  • What constitutes an ‘adult at risk’ and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Terminology, what is adult abuse, types of abuse and signs and symptoms of abuse.
  • How a disclosure might happen, opening up, reluctance to talk, reacting appropriately, disclosures, supporting you and procedures
  • Legislative frameworks.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
