Safeguarding Children Level 1 Training and Deveopment

The National Training Academy
Delivery Method: eLearning

Staff may not carry caseloads but still come into contact with children, families or carers. This could be over the telephone or face to face. All staff that come into contact with children, families or carers need to have an awareness of safeguarding. This involves being able to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse and know how to manage and record a disclosure of abuse.

This course is a basic awareness level 1 course. It is for staff whose work brings them into contact with children, families or carers. If staff work with children, families or carers on a regular basis or carry a case load, they need to complete the Level 2 course.

This Safeguarding Children level 2 course focuses on:

  • what child abuse is, legislation and types and effects of abuse.
  • reluctance to talk and accept, disclosures and what to do.
