Our Vaccination Training 1-day
refresher course follows recommendations from The National Minimum
Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered
Healthcare Practitioners.
You will refresh
your knowledge and practical skills needed to ensure safe vaccination
delivery, recognise and manage anaphylaxis shock and perform basic life
support.
Includes Anaphylaxis and Basic Life Support!
Who Is This Course For?
This Vaccination + Immunisation training is a refresher session for: -
- Nurses
- HCA's
- Pharmacists
- All other healthcare staff involved in delivering or advising on vaccinations.
Please Note - Delegates should have attended a 2-day foundation course or equivalent previous study, prior to attending this yearly update.
OBJECTIVES
- Update knowledge on national vaccine policies, schedules, legislation + guidance
- Recap your responsibilities as a vaccination provider
- Demonstrate the steps required prior to, during and post vaccination administration
- Demonstrate how to administer vaccinations safely
- Describe how to store and supply vaccinations
- Refresh knowledge on Anaphylaxis awareness, treatment + Basic Life Support

- Current issues in vaccination
- Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases
- Changes to the National Immunisation Schedule
- Changes to legislation relevant to vaccination
- Anaphylaxis recognition and management
- Review of current practice and identification of areas for improvement
