Level 4 Award in Epilepsy and Buccal Midazolam Instruction (Accredited Trainer)

The course:

Guardian Angels Training runs the only nationally endorsed trainer’s qualification in this specialist field. This popular course runs annually as an open basis or can be delivered as a closed close for organisations when convenient. With Epilepsy and Buccal Midazolam training representing an average investment of £850 + VAT per learning group, being qualified to deliver the training offers the following benefits and financial efficiencies:

- External trainers - increase both your course list and subsequent earnings

- In-house trainers - reduced training costs for your organisation and the increased convenience of managing essential training internally

Other providers may try to offer you their version of our Train the Trainer, however, their course will not; be endorsed, contain up to date information on the new guideline changes, new products available, or future updates, allow you to deliver the only nationally regulated qualification in Epilepsy and Buccal Midazolam. Most of the other providers that do offer this training have attended our Train the Trainer and now re-sell it. Unfortunately, this means that we do not update them and now have to carefully select trainers that want to attend our course.

Course and assessment overview:

Endorsed and recognised by an OFQUAL regulated awarding body, this Level 4 course meets all the required compliance criteria set by ESNA. Instructors and trainers who pass this course will be qualified to deliver Buccal Midazolam training under our licence and accreditation, covering:

- Epilepsy awareness

- An understanding of epilepsy

- Seizure management

- The administration of rescue medication (Buccal Midazolam)

In order to receive certification, delegates will be required to:

- Deliver a micro-teach session

- Pass a written exam

- Complete a portfolio of evidence

- Demonstrate the practical ability to teach and administer buccal midazolam

Following the face-to-face / virtual modules, delegates will also be required to submit a portfolio of evidence (including some self-directed study) plus several essay-style questions.

Application criteria and process:

Due to the specialist nature of this course, potential attendees are screened through an application process. To be successful you will need to demonstrate:

- Your care sector experience

- Two years’ experience of working with individuals with epilepsy

- training experience or qualification

Delivery:

Our course is delivered over two extended days, at a time and location suited for you.

Course costs:

Closed course - £3725 + vat per group. We include free of charge our Level 4 endorsed certification from the awarding body. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be provided with an e-tutor resource pack as well as gaining access to two e-assessment platforms (if chosen and subject to additional cost).
