Developing Clinical Skills (a bespoke training programme for your organisation requirements)

Our "Developing Clinical Skills" training programme will build on delegates current skills and knowledge, enabling them to create and implement new approaches to care delivery that meet the needs of your client group.

Delegates will:

• competently perform specific skills at an advanced level
• develop critical thinking skills
• enhance own professional practice

This programme will explore:

• Extended clinical skills
• Planning, implementing and evaluating patient care
• Legal and ethical principles
• Strategies for knowledge and skill acquisition
• Local health issues

Example extended clinical skills (bespoke to your requirements):

• Enteral Tube Care and Feeding
• Nasogastric Tube Insertion and Feeding
• Syringe Driber
• Tracheostomy Care
• Urinary catheterisation
• Venepuncture

Delivery:

The programme is delivered using a mix of problem-based learning, small group work, peer teaching, role play and seminars.

Assessment:

• Reflective portfolio 50%
• Clinical skills portfolio/Log of skill activity 50%

Assessment and certification

The course process consists of continual assessment by the course tutor, case studies, practical scenarios, OSCE's and workbook completion. Guardian Angels Training will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice following completion of our training course, allowing the registered provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor. Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate valid for 2 years.
