Postpartum perineal pain: Prevention and treatment

Perineal pain is common following vaginal birth, particularly when perineal trauma occurs.1,2,3 Pain can impact a woman’s emotional wellbeing and her ability to mobilise, breastfeed and care for her baby.4,5 This CPD module for GPs, midwives and maternity support workers, explains how to help women reduce perineal trauma and manage postpartum perineal pain.
