​Charlie Bloe (BSc RGN NDN ITU cert).

Clinical Lead

Charlie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1984. He is also a Registered General Nurse and District Nurse. He gained his Intensive Care Certificate in Glasgow in 1988. In 1997, Charlie established CB Nursing Updates (now Charles Bloe Training Ltd) whilst working full-time in the NHS.

Charlie has a wealth of clinical experience – both in the NHS and in training development and delivery. He has spent most of his clinical career in acute cardiology. He continues to work as a Clinical Manager in NHS Highland (coronary care) and adopts a hands-on approach within Charles Bloe Training Ltd, delivering numerous training courses throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland every year.

Mandy Day-Calder

Managing Director

Mandy took over directorship of CB Training in August 2019. A resourceful and motivated manager she has extensive insight into the varying needs of public, voluntary and commercial sectors. Solution focussed, she thrives on maximising efficiency of services whilst ensuring strategic aims are upheld.

She previously trained and qualified as a Registered General Nurse and has a wealth of experience in both acute and palliative care settings. She’s passionate about quality and compassionate care for patients/clients/service users and believes that staff need quality training that is focussed around their needs.

In 2005 Mandy left the NHS to work in the voluntary sector to specialise in information provision (both online and in print), service delivery and online development / marketing.

Mandy joined the Charles Bloe Training team in 2015. She’s committed to driving the business forward by aligning business needs with those of our learners, clients and trainers.

She also writes / edits articles for Nursing Standard. She has a Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice and a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing.

When not working Mandy loves walking and running through the vast trails in the Scottish Borders. She also competes in dog agility competitions with her beloved collies.
