GSF National Clinical Lead
National Clinical Lead for the Gold Standards Framework Centre, Hon Professor End of Life Care, University of Birmingham, Former Department of Health National Clinical Lead palliative care, NHS End of Life care Programme, RCGP Clinical Expert for End of Life Care , Founding member and former Secretary of International Society for Advance Care Planning and End of Life Care (ACPEL). Professor Keri Thomas is National Clinical Lead of The National Gold Standards Framework Centre.
GSF Lead Nurse
Within the Gold Standards Framework Centre, Maggie leads on the Care Homes Training and Accreditation Programme, Domiciliary Care and Community Hospitals. Prior to joining the GSF team she was manager of a nursing home in Cornwall, specialising in end of life care. She was also proactive in raising the profile of end of life care and GSF throughout the county, raising the awareness of other care home staff and commissioners to the needs of residents in care homes.
Deputy Lead Nurse
Qualified as a State Registered Nurse at the Royal Free Hospital London in 1977. Lucy has had a number of jobs, including burns and plastic surgery nursing in the Army, manager of a care agency in Wolverhampton recruiting staff for domiciliary, care home and hospital care and manager of a 66 care home in Shropshire. Lucy joined the Gold Standards Framework as a Clinical Nurse Advisor in 2011 focusing mainly on the care home training programme and domiciliary care training programme.
