I have fifteen years experience working in frontline services. In the last five years these have been based within healthcare settings (Emergency department and general practice). I have worked directly with patients who have experienced domestic abuse and I have trained clinicians and health practitioners to recognise and respond to domestic abuse. I am a trained IDSVA (Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Adviser) . I have worked with high-risk domestic abuse victims and have expertise in the MARAC process. I have an MSc in 'health promotion, research and policy change' and a postgraduate certificate in the 'dynamics of domestic abuse'. I also have a background in domestic abuse research.
