Skills Platform Terms

1. Applicable Terms

1.1 Use of this site constitutes your acceptance to the Skills Platform Terms of Use, which take effect immediately on your first use of the service. These terms incorporate the Skills for Health Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which apply as if specifically set out in the Skills Platform Terms of Use.

1.2 SKILLS FOR HEALTH may change these Terms of Use and the Associated Policies or the site content or functionality at any time by posting changes online. You are responsible for reviewing regularly information posted online to obtain timely notice of such changes. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified by the posted changes.

2. Information About the Skills Platform

2.1 The Skills Platform is an online market place for people to buy, share and promote relevant opportunities through the creation of profile pages and the promotion, sale and purchase of services and products ("Opportunities" or "Opportunity").

2.2 Opportunities are posted by:

2.2.1 organisations offering training (including e-learning) or bookable skills development opportunities, who wish to promote their services through the Skills Platform ("Provider"); or

2.2.2 an individual or organisation who offers skills development opportunities through coaching and mentoring, and/or through advice, research and support ("Consultant"); and

2.2.3 consumed by any individuals or organisations who take advantage of the Opportunities promoted through the Skills Platform ("Customer").

2.3 Opportunities will be provided on the terms and conditions of the Provider or Consultant as applicable, including in respect of the payment for and delivery of services relating to the Opportunity.

2.4 Whether you are a Provider, Consultant or Customer you acknowledge and agree that SKILLS FOR HEALTH is not responsible for any Opportunities made available on the Skills Platform. Accordingly, you agree and acknowledge that SKILLS FOR HEALTH does not make any representation or endorsement about the Opportunities or give any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility or accuracy regarding the Opportunities.

3. Fees and Discounts

3.1 Fees:

Skills Platform fees are made up of two parts:

1.An annual listings fee of £500+VAT. Listing is free until activity targets are reached -See listing fee explanation below

2.Commission orders made online via the Skills Platform’s ecommerce function (optional) - See commission fee explanation below

3.2 Skills Platform Listing Fees

The Skills Platform has an annual listings fee of £500+vat unless otherwise stated

4. Payments and Price

You can offer direct purchasing on the Skills Platform which means customers can place an order without having to fill in other forms on your website. Offering direct purchases on the Skills Platform offers many benefits:

Increase revenue. Providers who accept direct payments on the Skills Platform tend to achieve higher sales as customers enjoy having being able to order within a single platform using details they have already registered.

Greater presence. Our algorithm uses onsite sales as a quality signal. The more sales you receive, the higher you may appear for certain terms within the platform.

Control – For payments via Stripe, the order is sent to your Stripe account via the Skills Platform account. This means there is no delay in you receiving your payment.

There are two methods of accepting payments via the Skills Platform

1.Card payments via Stripe

2.Offering invoice payments to the customer

In addition to Skills Platform commission charges, Stripe levies a fee of 1.4% + 20p for European cards. You may be able to negotiate lower rates based on your sales volumes. For further details see here:

This section is for information only and would only apply if the NAS take up Skills for Health’s online payment functionality.

4.1 The Skills Platform operates its online electronic payments through Stripe.

4.2 Payment of fees online is collected by our electronic payment provider Stripe, which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

4.2.1.Sensitive personal data such as credit or debit card information, 3D secure data and bank account information will not be stored or retained by SKILLS FOR HEALTH or the Skills Platform. All such data will be securely stored within the Stripe environment. By using Stripe's secure e-commerce functionality, we are ensuring that full PCI compliance is in place.

4.2.2 Any Provider or Consultant who wishes to promote Opportunities through the Skills Platform, using the e-commerce functionality for payment needs to create and manage a Stripe account. More information about setting up a Stripe account and Stripe Connect, click here:

4.2.3 By using Stripe's 'Connect' function together with the Skills Platform's e-commerce functionality, payment for your services will be transmitted direct from the Customer to your Stripe account less any fees.

4.2.4 If the Skills Platform change the payment processor, we will endeavour to give you notice.

4.3 The Provider [or Consultant] may choose to offer an invoice payment system alongside the Stripe facility. If a Customer purchases from the Skills Platform and chooses to be invoiced, the Skills Platform will immediately email the Provider with details of the booking. The Provider [or Consultant] will then be responsible for invoicing the Customer directly and for ensuring receipt of any payments in accordance with the Provider’s payment terms. At the time a purchase is made in accordance with this clause

4.3 SKILLS FOR HEALTH will invoice the Provider [ or Consultant ] for the Commission due when the value of this commission owed is greater than £25. The Commission shall be paid by the Provider [or Consultant] within 40 days of the date of our invoice.

4.4 SKILLS FOR HEALTH will not participate in any dispute between Providers or Consultants and Customer relating to the provision of the Opportunity.

4.5 In the event that a Provider or Consultant refunds all or any part of the cost of an Opportunity to the Customer, SKILLS FOR HEALTH will not refund the Commission. In certain circumstances, at the discretion of SKILLS FOR HEALTH, consideration may be given to refunding the Commission. Each request for a refund of this nature should be made in writing to

4.6 By posting Opportunities on the Skills Platform Providers or Consultants accept and agree that the terms stated are at least as favourable as those granted by the Provider or Consultant on their own site or any other site or platform which they use to advertise Opportunities.

4.7 Opportunities that are made available by a Provider for purchase with a clear and fixed price; date and/or location though a Provider’s other marketing activity e.g. their own website, must also be made available on the Skills Platform as opportunities that can be booked online on the Skills Platform.

4.8 Providers must not seek to circumvent either or both the purchasing or enquiry facilities of the Skills Platform by inserting links to a direct booking facility on their own website.

5. Use of the Skills Platform

5.1 SKILLS FOR HEALTH may terminate, suspend or withdraw access to the Skills Platform at its sole discretion.

5.2 SKills for health may developed their own courses in time which compete with a provider's listed courses. We may request a provider removes this competing course from their listing.

6. Cancellation of Registration

6.1 Consultants or Providers who wish to cancel their registration should send an email requesting cancellation to

6.2 SKILLS FOR HEALTH will endeavour to remove the Consultant or Providers details from the Skills Platform within 10 business days of receipt of the request.

7. Privacy Policy

We use “Google Analytics” to collect anonymous information about use of this site.

Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site.

Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use(as amended for government websites) and the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics employs cookies to define user sessions, which allows for the collection of data about how visitors are using the websites.

The standard Google Analytics tracking function uses first party cookies. This means that the cookies are linked to a specific website domain, and Google Analytics will only use that cookie data for statistical analysis related to your browsing behaviour on that specific website. According to Google, the data collected cannot be altered or retrieved by services from other domains.

In addition to the standard Google Analytics first party cookie, we have also enable Google’s Advertising Features. This includes the following functions:

We primary utilise third party cookies to track anonymous age, gender and interest data in order to improve the website experience for our users.
