I'm George Whitaker, based in Swansea, South Wales. Throughout my life I have had an interest in psychology and the way the mind works. This led me to study a degree in Psychology at the University of Reading. Following this, I travelled to many parts of the world including South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South America. During my travels, the mindsets, cultures and resilience of people around the world has amazed and enthused me to strive to continually develop myself and those around me. My aim is to provide a professional and supportive training platform to improve the lives of everyone involved, no matter where in the world you're from or what you've been through.
As well as a degree in Psychology, I have also had practical hands-on experience as a listening volunteer with 'Samaritans', a charity aimed at reducing distress and suffering by connecting with others. On top of this, I hold a Level 3 certificate in Education & Training, and I'm a fully approved Nuco Training Instructor.

Really enjoyed it George! Well delivered and interesting. Nice to take some time to just stop and consider how we actually are feeling about things at this moment in time. Would highly recommend it!

Thanks again!

A really relaxed, enjoyable course including very relevant information for me as a Registered Nurse. I completed this course as part of my C.P.D. for Revalidation and feel that it is relevant to all aspects of the NMC Code, especially Prioritising people, Practising effectively and Preserving safety.

I attended the ‘resilience through Covid’ course after seeing it advertised online. I work as a Nurse Sister and the past few months have been some of the most challenging of my career so far. George’s delivery of the course was perfect and not only consisted of up to date and relevant information, but also individual experiences. George acted as a great listener while the group shared personal experiences - this was particularly useful for myself as it gave me chance to reflect on the challenges we have all experienced this year. We discussed coping mechanisms and George shared tips on how to remain positive. It was an informative, personal session filled with relevant information (and even a bit of lighthearted humour, when appropriate!). I will definitely be attending the next course and sharing it with my team at work! Thank you!

A Brilliant Course, Resilience Through COVID. Very relevant as it didn’t just highlight some of the issues I’ve been experiencing as a nurse over the past few months, but what I can do to help myself and others to overcome them. Great group discussion and a really enjoyable session. Thanks George!

I attended the training for Resilience Through Covid with George this morning and I would recommend it to everyone. George was friendly and welcoming, as were the others on the training with us. It was informative for not only helping my own resilience and mental health but also how to offer help to others in different ways in which I have never thought of before. It was relaxed but effective and eye-opening to how to support yourself and also the people around you. Really helpful tools shared and one of the best mental health training sessions I have attended. Thank you!

I recently took a course with Whitaker Training which I thoroughly enjoyed. The facilitator (George) was both professional and friendly and I've taken a lot away from the course.

Excellent training with George having in-depth knowledge, and understanding of the serious issues surrounding Mental Health. My interest in the subject was to improve my understanding of the subject so I can support the Care Industry. We provide Training and Consultancy advice to Care Homes throughout the UK. Whitaker Training has enabled me to have a greater understanding and I will definitely be recommending George Whitaker and his Mental Health in Life & Work to all our Care Home clients.

The sympathetic, clear delivery and non judgemental approach of the tutor helped me to gain insight into my own mental health, the effects of stress and how I can personally help myself and others in work and in my home life.
The emotive content of some of the video clips and the thought provoking ideas gained from discussion with the tutor and group has given me insight as to how mental illness affects people in life and work. I feel that I am now well equipped to recognise and deal with mental health issues raised by fellow staff and residents I care for. I’m confident that this knowledge will improve my practice.
Thanks for a really enjoyable course.
